Can I Drink Soda or Coke with Invisalign?

Invisalign has been the preferred way for adults and teens to straighten their teeth since its inception in 1997. Today, in 2020, it offers a variety of benefits that are not available with traditional metal braces. First and foremost, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible to the naked eye so nobody will know you are wearing them unless you make it known.

If you lead a busy personal and/or professional life, you don’t have to worry about aligners getting in the way. You can go about your daily routine while straightening your teeth and achieving the smile of your dreams. Invisalign aligners are so comfortable that you may not even know you’re wearing them.

While metal braces come with food and drink restrictions, Invisalign aligners do not. Why? Because Invisalign aligners are completely removable. Any time you eat or drink, you can remove your aligners and enjoy your food or beverage without any issues. You can drink coke and soda with Invisalign as long as you take the aligners out of your mouth. While it may be tempting to drink these beverages with the aligners in your mouth, know that doing so can stain them or even cause damage.

As long as you wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day, you can take them out to drink as much coke and soda as your heart desires. You can also eat popcorn, taffy, and other foods that are typically not approved for metal braces patients. Although Invisalign treatment times vary from patient to patient, most patients can enjoy beautiful results in about a year. An orthodontist at our office can provide you with further details on your particular treatment plan.
